The Sandbox is an initial type of BI solution, where skilled analysts start to use some data from the non-production environment to prepare reports for users. This solution runs manually without any official support and SLAs. It does not use any dedicated tools, as it is often realised via MS Excel and direct access to the data in the non-production environment. The outputs from the solution are often ad hoc based on the user demand and are not planned as repeatable.
